Directions to 2011 Girls Cross Country Meets

Hornet/Red Devil Invitational @ Katherine Legge Memorial Park (KLM), Hinsdale
Go east on 55th Street to County Line Rd. Turn right (south) and go about 3/4 of a mile to the Katherine Legge Memorial Park entrance at the south end of the park, on the east side of County Line Rd. Park in lot on west end of park and walk to the course start/ finish area on the east side of the park.

Peoria Woodruff Invitational @ Detweiler Park, Peoria
Take I-55 south to I-80. Take 80 west to Route 29 (exit says Hennepin/ to Peoria). Stay on 29 south. Once past the town of Chillicothe, begin watching for Detweiler Park on the right side. The IIlinois River will be on your left. Detweiler Park is located on the northern edge of Peoria on Route 29.

York Home Course @ East End Park, Elmhurst
Take Route 83 north to North Avenue. Turn right and go east to Berteau Avenue (this is just before you reach the overpass at I-294). Turn right on Berteau and go to Third Street. Go left on Third and this will take you right to the park. This is York's home course.

Proviso West Home Course @ Proviso West High School, Westchester
Take Route 83 north to Roosevelt Road. Go east on Roosevelt to Wolf Road. Turn left and go north on Wolf about 1/2 mile to the Proviso West High School entrance. Park in the lot near the field house/indoor track. The start and finish area of the course is on the southeast side of the school, east of (behind) the indoor track.

Whitney Young Invitational @ Washington Park, Chicago
Take I-55 north to Lake Shore Drive South. Exit at 57th Street (by the museum) and head west on 57th Street. Go to Cornell Ave. and turn left (south) to Midway Plaisance/59th St. Go right (west) one-way), past Cottage Grove Ave., to Payne Dr. and go right (north) into Washington Park. It curves west; go left onto Morgan Dr. to Russell Dr. The meet will be set up along Russell Drive inside Washington Park.

Glenbard West Home Course @ Camera Park in Glendale Heights
Take I-355 north to the North Ave. exit and go left. Go to Bloomingdale Rd. and go right. The park is approximately 1/4 mile west (turn left) of Bloomindale Rd. on Fullerton Ave. (one mile north of North Ave.).

Wheaton North Classic @ St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville
Take I-88 west to Winfield Rd. Go north on Winfield to Butterfield Rd. After crossing Butterfield, go about 100 meters and turn right into the forest preserve. Marshals will direct drivers from there.

WSC Conference Meet @ LT South Campus
Go east on 55th Street to Willow Springs Road. Turn left (north) and go to the LT South Campus, which will be just before 47th Street. Turn into the parking lot at the last (northernmost) entrance and go to the back of the school. The course is on school grounds west of the school, just south of the tennis courts.

Sectional Meet @ Dellwood Park, Lockport H.S. Home Course
Take Route 83 south across the Cal-Sag bridges, etc. Stay right on 83/171 (Archer Avenue) after crossing bridges. 171 south will take you straight to Lockport (past Cog Hill, Lemont, etc.). Go through Lockport. At the far end of town, Dellwood Park is at the corner of 171 and Parkview and will be on your left. It is about a 35 minute drive.

Other Courses

DGN Home Course @ Green Valley Forest Preserve
Take 63rd Street west. 63rd will angle southwest and turn into Hobson Road. Take Hobson to Green Road (just past Route 53; there will be a barn on the corner) and turn left. Go about 1/4 mile and turn left into the Green Valley Preserve parking lot. This is DGN's home course.

Oak Park - River Forest Home Course @ Schiller Woods, Chicago
Take Route 83 north to Irving Park Road (19). Irving Park Road is in the Bensenville area and you will reach it soon after passing Fenton High School on your right. The entrance to Irving Park Road is a bit tricky, as the signs will direct you through a side street in a residential neighborhood to wind around to Irving Park. Pay attention to the signs after passing Fenton H.S. Go east on Irving Park After passing River road (the last stoplight before the forest preserves begin), Schiller Woods will soon be visible on your left. Continue heading east and turn into the last parking lot entrance on your left before reaching Cumberland Road. If you reach the stoplight at Cumberland, you have just passed the parking lot entrance.
